Become a Fairy Godparent in about a minute.
Meet Ryu
The tallest resident. The best watchman. The biggest grocery bill.
Ryu is our ostrich. If you have visited, he saw you before you saw him. He sees everything. It is kind of his whole thing.
These days Ryu patrols the sanctuary like he owns it, which, honestly, fair. He supervises the mini horses. He keeps an eye on the goats, because somebody has to. And he eats like the tallest resident on the property, with vet care sized to match.
Ryu has people now. Us, and everyone who visits. But the feed bills do not care how charming he is. That is where you come in.

Where the money goes
What a month of care looks like.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal sanctuary and every dollar you give goes to the animals. That makes the budget refreshingly boring. It is hay, feed, and vet bills, forever.
The goats consider every one of these line items negotiable. The vet does not.
Every dollar goes to the animals. Not most dollars. Every dollar. Visits and the store fund the mission too, so if you have already been here, you have already helped.

The waiting list
Ryu is the famous one. He is not the hungry one.
Every resident here can have a fairy godparent, by name. The mini horses, the mini cows, professional loungers. The goats, persistent, all of them. The pigs, who greet you snout-first. The emus, the tortoises, the peacocks, the parrots including Lola, our newest macaw, and the whole bird society of chickens, turkeys, ducks, and guinea hens. Scroll through, then pick the one that picks you.

Good questions
Is my sponsorship tax deductible?
Yes, to the extent the law allows. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Email info@kaleidoscopedesert.com and we will send an acknowledgment and our EIN for your records.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Email info@kaleidoscopedesert.com and we cancel it same day. No forms, no guilt trip. The goats may judge you but the goats judge everyone.
Can I visit the resident I sponsor?
Yes, on a booked tour or day pass. Fairy Patrons also get a yearly private meet-and-greet that we arrange with you by email. Every visit is 18 and over.
What happens if my resident passes away?
We will tell you personally, not in a newsletter. You can move your sponsorship to another resident whenever you are ready. Rescue means loving animals who had hard starts, and we do not hide the hard parts.
Can I gift a sponsorship?
Yes, and it is a great gift for the person who has everything except a goat. Set it up with your email, then forward the welcome note, or email us and we will handle the handoff.
Can I bring my kids to meet my resident?
The sanctuary is adults only, 18 and over. The residents are the children here.
Every resident here needed somebody. Be that somebody for the next one.
Not ready for monthly? A one-time gift feeds everyone just the same. And honestly, coming to see us counts too.
